The transformation has happened. While you're reading about Katie's conversion, why not watch a classic clip of Tom Cruise getting squirted in the face.
Excerpts from the interview, conducted by Diane Sawyer, were released by the Walt Disney Co.-owned network as part of a publicity blitz linking the impending birth of Cruise's first biological child with his upcoming film, "Mission: Impossible: III."Cruise suggested Scientology's doctrine of "silent birth," emphasizing a calm, quiet atmosphere in the delivery room, free from screaming and shouts of "push!," was misunderstood and exaggerated by the media.
"It's basically just respecting the mother, you know, and helping to be quiet. (But) not the mother. The mother makes as much noise ... you know, she's going through it. She does what she's gotta do, OK?" Contrary to perceptions that Scientology frowns on giving painkillers to women in labor, Cruise added: "We're there, you know, with doctors. ... Whatever the woman wants. ... If she needs an epidural, she's gonna get her epidural."
He denied a tabloid report that he had bought an adult pacifier to muffle the moans of his 27-year-old fiance.
Asked whether their baby would be given a Catholic baptism, Cruise said, "No," then added: "I mean you can be Catholic and be a Scientologist. You can be Jewish and be a Scientologist. But we're just Scientologists."
"Katie, too?" Sawyer asked. "Katie, too," he replied.
It was the first public acknowledgment from the couple that Holmes has joined Cruise, one of Scientology's most prominent adherents, in embracing a faith founded by science-fiction writer L. Ron Hubbard.
Cruise denied media accounts of tension with Holmes' parents, who are devout Catholics, over her association with Scientology. "They're OK with her being a Scientologist since they're Catholic?" Sawyer asked, to which Cruise answered, "Absolutely, yes."
Maybe he's brainwashed Katie's family as well.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
Draya says:
Where is his publicist when he's shooting off his stupid mouth?? Somebody put a ball-gag in his mouth, like his boyfriend does.
BlazerMary says:
Hey Katie, so how much does someone's soul go for these days?
tom says:
Apparently Mr. Cruise is re-writing the laws of the catholic church now, because the last time I checked, you cannot be Catholic (or Christian for that matter) unless you are baptised.
lolo says:
i thought he was used to taking shots in the face.
Cheesy says:
I think Mr. D-head means you can remain a Catholic as well as becoming a Scientologist. Apparently, in Tom-Land, you don't have to renounce anything (except your soul!) to become a Pod.
But this whole silent birth thing really is shedding light on why Tom is Tom. The theory the Pods have is that words are imprinted on the baby, right? Well, maybe someone told Tom's mom to "Push that baby out like it's a bowel movement!" and "Get that little pompous bastard out of your coo-coo NOW!" And maybe it imprinted. And the trauma is why he never wants to go near the vagina.
i should be working says:
calling it his first biological child is a big assumption
Anno says:
Can't wait for the rebuttal from her parents. No freakin way would they be OK with their Catholic raised daughter converting to Scientology. No sane parents would be.
Mariah says:
I do not believe anything that comes out of his mouth... Myself, being brought up in a devout Catholic househhold, there is NO WAY that Katie's parents' are OK with her conversion... his last quote bothers me, if it is ok to be both a Catholic AND a Scientologist, why not give the baby a catholic batism... since Katie is so eager to "adopt" his crazy religion, shouldn't it work both ways and he have respect for the fact that she was brought up Catholic?? and maybe still holds on to some of her Catholic beliefs... it seems to me that it has to be HIS WAY or NO WAY... geez, even his mom and sisters have converted, probably so they wouldn't be cut out of the will...
They all make me sick... I wish that the press would not report on them, then maybe they would just go away~!
la says:
Isn't it soooooo cute that he speaks for her family? (By "cute," I mean creepy, since nobody else thinks they do like him) He probably threatened to have her "disconnect" the poor people.
Can anyone tell me why someone would voluntarily become a Scientologists? (I am not including brainwashing)

COME BACK JOEY POTTER! AWAKEN FROM YOUR SCIENTOLOGY NIGHTMARE! GO BACK TO CAPESIDE!
DaRk AnGeL says:
Yea so Katie Holmes can do sooo much better than his old ass. And as to her converting over to Scientology is just rediculous. She's much to good for him. The way I see it, she's carryin the baby for 9 and then giving birth to it, it should be her decision as to how she wants to have it. And for the religion, I grew up without a religion but I have the same beliefs as most people. She needs to give her child the religion she believes is more suitable. I would never convert my religion or change my ways for anyone!! But to each their own I guess. Katie is much to good for him.
gOssiP says:
my guess is he has her family locked up somewhere and threatening to kill them if they dare speak against him.
remember when katie's father asked him to do the right thing and take care of his daughter. well tc--mission failed.
YOGAGIRL says:
I find this Scientology "religion" very interesting....(and that is a euphemism). How is is that a pregnant woman cannot make noise during delivery or be given pain control because it may "stress" the baby out, but the mother is allowed to consume large, caffeine-containing beverages daily? Doesn't Scientology consider caffeine a "mind-altering" chemical? Also, I agree with the above comments that for TC it is HIS way or NO WAY. I cannot believe that out of respect for Katie and her parents, he will not let the baby by baptized! If one can be both a Scientologist and Catholic, then why not practice what you preach. This has to be killing her parents-in fact, I heard that KH's father actually said out loud to a reporter that Scientology was a "load of crock"......Also, since the reported due date is 4/21 and his MI3 premieres in Italy on 4/24, I wonder how he can adamantly state that the two things won't conflict? Won't inducing labor (and therefore, disturbing the baby's inner sanctum) permanently harm the baby for life (that is, more than this kid will already be?) Finally, if this "child" of TC doesn't have HUGE beak of a nose, we will know for sure that he isn't the father. If you look at his sisters and mother, this beak is a dominant Cruise family trait!!!!
Wolfgang says:
A religion based on a scifi-novel - how on earth can he seriously say or honestly believe that? I'm sure it's all the brainwash, they can make you believe in yodeling cats and flying cows as well. The next time we get a new religion maybe it's based on Rowlings "Harry Potter".
