Have A Socialite Night-1

New York:

Friday: Want to meet the brains behind Seth Cohen’s taste in music? Join The O.C. creator Josh Schwartz and music supervisor Alexandra Patsavas for a discussion on how they pick songs for the show’s soundtrack. Maybe you’ll pick up a few tips for your own music collection along the way. [Link]

Saturday: The two-day Bamboozle Festival begins today at The Meadowlands. It’s a bit of a trek, but you only need to take one look at the guest list to know that it’s worth the trip. (The list includes Motion City Soundtrack, Fall Out Boy, All American Rejects and Thursday.) Sure, it’s no Coachella, but to emo fans, it might just be heaven on earth. [Link]

Sunday: This afternoon, David Schwimmer takes a page from pal Joey’s book and makes his Broadway debut in “The Caine Mutiny-Court Martial”. May it fair better than everyone else’s life after Friends. [Link]

Los Angeles and Chicago events are after the jump.

Los Angeles:

Friday: Join best-selling author A.M. Holmes at Skylight Books for a reading and signing of her latest novel, This Book Will Save Your Life. Who knows -- the signing might save your life, too. [Link]

Saturday: Carnie Wilson, of Wilson Phillips and Gastric-Bypass fame will be performing selections from her debut solo CD A Mother's Gift at Borders on Westwood Blvd. Her husband will be joining her for the signing as well. [Link]

Sunday: Trapped in the Closet or a night on the town? R Kelly finishes up the LA leg of his sold out tour tonight at the Gibson Ampitheater. Child pornography allegations aside, it should be a pretty good show. [Link]

Chicago:

Friday: Tonight The Black Eyed Peas host a party at The Enclave – Chicago. RSVPs are required for the private cocktail portion of the evening, so check out the club’s site for more details. [Link]

Saturday: The Black Eye Peas will continue their mission to take over Chicago nightlife tonight at The Aragon Ballroom, so don’t miss out. After all, who wouldn’t want to be face to face with Fergie two nights in a row? [Link]

Sunday: Tonight it’s Dinner and a Movie, TBS style at The Adobo Grill – Wicker Park. This evening’s selection, “Frida” (starring Selma Hayek), will be followed by a three course Mexican meal with all the trimmings. I’d imagine that this one of those things that is better in person, so save that home-cooked meal for tomorrow. [Link]

If you don't live in either of those cities, here are some things for you to do this weekend.
