Apparently, a post-rehabed Nicole Richie thought Paris Hilton didn't have the type of vibe that she she be surrounded by. That explains the whole Steve-O hookup thing, he being such a sane person and having such a positive influence on people.
Nicole Richie has finally explained the reason behind her mysterious feud with her The Simple Life co-star Paris Hilton. The socialites had a much-publicized fall-out in January 2005 and have famously refused to divulge the reason behind their rift.But Richie now insists she steered clear of her former pal after a stint in rehab made her reassess her priorities.
She tells Vanity Fair, "When I got out of rehab, I had to figure out what path to go down, and part of that included taking certain people out of my life. "I just decided I didn't want to be her (Hilton's) friend anymore. We're just two completely different people; we don't have that much in common."
She may want to steer clear of Taryn Manning.

Paris is a vicious liar and backbiter.. and was exposed and sued for it. But Richie has enormous problems of her own.. of which Paris could have led her to be a party to same crimes, so she was wise to drop this crazy-dishonest friend.

Frankly, I always thought this was the real reason. It doesn't take a genius to figure out Paris isn't healthy for most people. Nicole does seem more serious and focused and yes she has her issues, but don't we all? At least she knows it and works on them.

Although I have always thought that both females are doing nothing but setting seriously sad examples for girls, I have to say whenever I've seen a snippet of their show THE SIMPLE LIFE (never have watched more than 5min of it I'm proud to say) when they were friends, and Nicole IMO was the off the hook one between the two of them. Paris almost seemed passive compared, and it seems Nicole was the one who was always ALWAYS the one who was more bold & bawdy than Paris by any stretch of the imagination.
