It really does sound like Cameron Diaz is just a miserable human being. She hates the paparazzi, even going as far as physically attacking them. On top of that, she frequently snubs fans' autograph requests. Doesn't she realize that she's a star? That's part of the whole package. I mean to be lumped in with the cranky Tobey Maguire and Russell Crowe is just plain sad.
I am surprised that Teri Hatcher and Alan Alda are on the list. I mean Teri Hatcher went from B-List to D-List to A-List. You would think she could show a tad of appreciation. I always that Alan Alda would be all kind and jovial, but apparently he's not into interacting with the public.
Johnny Depp has the write stuff when it comes to signing autographs while Cameron Diaz is the worst, according to a new list Friday from Autograph Collector magazine."Many stars become bad signers once fame and fortune hits, but not Depp. He's even signed autographs for crowds at the airport while carrying luggage," said Steve Cyrkin, editor and publisher of the Santa Ana, Calif.-based magazine.
As for Clooney, "he'll joke as he signs, and make fun of how he looks in photos he's handed to autograph," Cyrkin said.
When it comes to her moniker, however, Diaz gets a flunking grade. "Cameron Diaz may be a talented actress, but she's persistently a terrible signer. Instead of just turning down a person's autograph request, she'll lecture them about how dumb autographs are," Cyrkin said.
Russell Crowe would have been named as the best of the worst but in recent months he has been much nicer to fans, Cyrkin said in a telephone interview Friday.
Here are the ten worst autograph singers.
1. Cameron Diaz
2. Bruce Willis
3. Demi Moore
4. Tobey Maguire
5. Alan Alda
6. Halle Berry
7. Winona Ryder
8. Teri Hatcher
9. Joaquin Phoenix
10. Russell Crowe

i never thought cameron diaz was a very good actress either.
tia says:
Well of course Tom Cruise is on the list. hehe !! Go TC !!! Anyway I agree Tonya I never thought Cameron was that great of an actress. I did like her in that movie Being John Malkovich. I'am not surprised with Russel Crowe. This man hits people with telephones. I was very surprised at Halle Berry and Tobey Maguire. They dont seem like people who would do that. Guess I was wrong.
Kris says:
Cameron Who?
oh THAT Cameron. I think I remember seeing her in a couple films long, long, time ago. Isn't she the one with the nasty personal grooming habits? Icky.

Somehow most of the names on the "bad signers" list don't surprise me.
Wanna bet that Tom Cruise offers coupons to "personality tests" with every autograph? ;)

I saw Al Pacino after watching his play in Brooklyn. There were about 40 people waiting for him. He was so sweet, patient and cool while he was signing. My friend was having his picture taken with him, and he was like " I don't think that one worked, take another one".
You can't be an a** hole and hope to remain a star for a long time..

Teri Hatcher should definitely sign anything put up to her rubbery face. She was nothing until Desperate Housewives and as soon as that's cancelled, she'll be nothing again!
Julia says:
I never thought that Halle Berry was a bad signer.
I got her autograph while she was running really late for the movies. Her ex-husband was tugging her away from me and telling her to just go; but she didnt just go. She stopped and signed it.
las says:
Yeah, Halle was the one name that surprised me. (Hence the "most")
oriana says:
angelina jolie is on the list great!!! i really like to have her autograph
ali says:
Ew, Cameron Diaz doesn't need to be signing any autographs anyway...she needs to be signing a check to Proactiv!
Rachel says:
wow. bruce willis and demi moore lumped together. too bad they're not married anymore.
Viva Los Pantalones says:
Whoa, that woman is deformed. Are her boobs under her arms now? There's room for a whole third boob in the middle there. Not that I was looking.
Talking of third boobs, she's still dating Justin I assume? Two people with atrocious skin in one convenient little entity.
Naturally, I'm perfect. Shut up.
yolanda says:
How come there are more women on the worst autograph signers' list? There are more men on the best list. I think it's because men have nothing to worry about as much. Whereas, woman do. Women tend to get griped or mishandled easily by audience members. We're not the weaker sex, but people treat us like it. Women wear dresses, so being griped, even if men are griped too, is not acceptable. You don't want someone putting their hand up your skirt or down your bra. But I do think women need to be more business/client conscious and go out there like the guys and put up with it (avoid the griping somehow) and take the risk AND SIGN AUTOGRAPHS! I would do it all the time. I would learn to appreciate my fans. Plus, it's called being business savvy.

I understand the need for privacy, but when you put yourself out there in public arenas eg. movies, music concerts etc... They should at least appreciate the fame by signing a few autographs here and there cause it isn't just their talents or looks that get them to where they are it is us, the fans, by buying their music cds; requesting certain songs from our favorite radio stations; spending anywhere from $20-$50 each time we go to a cinema to watch their movies; and however much on other items that they produce or endorse.
Sincerely,
A Conch living in Illinois
PS What I would give up to be making the money they are.
Jim says:
If I were Demi Moore or Winona Ryder, I would sign ANYthing for any person not wielding a gun, knife or bomb. Demi Moore is the worst mainstream actress I have seen in my 54 years of life--which is saying a lot, when you consider the likes of Raquel Welch, Brooke Shields, etc.
As for Winona Ryder, she takes her (over-)acting a great deal more seriously than she has any right to. The result is the demurely insufferable arrogance that led her to think she could testi-lie her way out a criminal case in which she was hopelessly guilty.
Where Winona's concerned, I guess it's a matter of thinking, "I'm pretty, pampered and have gorgeous eyes, therefore I'm a valid actress." In Moore's case, I don't know how to explain it. Maybe it's, "I paid for this body, now I expect vast fame and fortune as an `actress'."
