OK, folks. Find some comfortable seats, and get yourself some popcorn, cause this is going to be a nice, long divorce. Let's start with the fact that Britney's hubby, Kevin Federline, has now had a moment to respond to Britney filing for divorce from him--a fact for which he apparently was not completely prepared. But now that it's had some time to sink in, he's looking to battle for custody of the little tater tots. From TMZ:
Federline was caught flatfooted when TMZ broke the story Tuesday that Britney filed legal papers in L.A. County Superior Court. Spears has asked for sole custody of the couple's two small children. TMZ is told Federline is thinking of challenging that, even though Spears has functioned as the primary, if not sole parent, as Federline tours the country hawking his CD.But oh, there are so many twists and turns yet to come in this parting of ways. One of which, is the fact that it looks like maybe Kevin was planning a divorce surprise of his own. From LifeandStylemag.com:
When contacted by Life & Style, Kevin's rep seemed to have no idea that Britney had filed divorce papers. In fact, insiders say Kevin was preparing a divorce bombshell of his own. As early as last May, Kevin, 28, began secretly meeting with his lawyer, Mark Kaplan, to work out a settlement deal with Britney, 24. Kevin was prepared to use their son, Sean Preston, now 1, as leverage: If Britney didn't give Kevin $10 million, plus their $10 million Malibu mansion, he would sue her for custody, claims an insider. "Kevin knows that Sean is Britney's Achilles' heel," an insider says. But the couple stayed together through the birth of their second son, Jayden James, now 2 months.

Yet Life & Style knows that Kevin recently went back to his lawyer for more secret divorce talks -- and this time, he had two babies to use as pawns. He was hoping to score a $30 million payday. "He feels like $10 million is not a generous amount if he and Britney split since he won't have any part of his sons' lives," says an insider. But Britney was too quick for him. While Kevin was caught up with his troubled album-release tour, she filed papers of her own asking for legal and physical custody of Sean and Jayden -- before the couple reached any kind of deal. "There was no way she was going to let Kevin lead the way on this subject," says a close friend of Kevin's. "She filed first to save face. It's all about taking care of the babies and keeping the money." And Brit's prenup should be airtight. According to the prenup, Kevin will receive $300,000, any gifts Britney bought him that cost less than $10,000 and half the value of their $10 million Malibu mansion.Diamonds? A girl's best friend? In addition to all this divorce talk, we're also learning that the actual date of the Spears-Federline matrimonial union was nearly a full three weeks after their highly publicized nuptials on Sept. 18th, 2004. From TMZ:
Spears and Federline celebrated what many thought was their wedding day on Sept. 18th, 2004 at the Studio City home of wedding planner Alyson Fox. Roughly 25 close friends and family members reportedly attended, including Spears' mother and sister. However, according to the divorce papers filed by Spears, her marraige to K-Fed didn't occur until Oct 6th -- nearly three weeks after the "secret" nuptials went down. Us Weekly obtained what they claimed were authentic legal documents signed by Spears and Federline and their attorneys. The documents, published on thesmokinggun.com state that the event that happened on Sept. 18 was a "faux ceremony," and also state that the pop duet had to work out a prenup before tying the knot for real.Hell yeah, bitch. The more I'm learning about this divorce, the happier I am to keep hearing "pre-nup! pre-nup!"
And, of course, what would a highly publicized divorce be without a sex-tape? Fleshbot has about 19 seconds of some footage that may or may not be Britney Spears and K-Fed engaging in some sexual behavior--as much as one can do in 19 seconds, I imagine--but I'll leave it up to you to decide if it's really our favorite little white trash couple or not.

I don't think he has a leg to stand on, as far as getting full costody of the kids..he only wants it so he can get child support from Brit..I think her lawyer is smart. at least I hope so..also, Brit has way more money to fight this than broke ass fed-ex has..

No family law judge will give him custody of those kids, EVER. Children that young are never given to the father unless the mother is proved to be "unfit," and while Britney may not be the brightest bulb on the circuit, she does love those kids.

Not sure why anyone thinks this is going to get nasty? Britney has an air tight pre-nup so they'll only get what she made DURING their marriage, which isn't much. As for the kids, babybing was right...no judge in his/her right mind would give full custody to K-Fed. Even with Brits mishaps (which happen to almost ALL new mothers) she'll get custody.
I think this is much to do about nothing...he's not going to get a dime.
