It looks like Cosmo Kramer and his boob tube cronies are going to have to pay for the sins of the actor who portrayed him for years on television. From E! News Online:
The Reverend Jesse Jackson called for a boycott Monday of the latest Seinfeld DVD, a way of exacting economic punishment for Richards' racist meltdown. In a bit of bad timing for Jerry Seinfeld, et al., the seventh season of Seinfeld was released as a four-disc set last week, just as Richards' caught-on-video, Nov. 17 Los Angeles comedy club raving was made public. The new Seinfeld package, featuring much quoted episodes such as "The Soup Nazi" ("No soup for you!"), was Amazon.com's 11th-biggest-selling DVD on Monday and was expected to be a big stocking-stuffer for Christmas.And this is, of course, a request coming from Rev. Jackson even after Richards appeared on his radio show, apologetic and remorseful. Now, I hope everyone has learned from this experience--namely that use of the N-word by white people should remain limited to the inside of their cars when they're driving and listening to rap songs--by themselves, of course.

I'm a little late in replying to this here... but in regards as to whether Michael Richards is a racist, or just a normal guy ranting at some hecklers who peeved him off, is pretty much resolved in a recent article on the electronic news network...
The article reveals a few points of interest, including the fact 40% of the cast members on Richards' OWN show were Black (vs all white on "Seinfeld") and photos of Michael Richards attending a Black-centric party in LA.
