After all the fuss surrounding ownership of Anna Nicole Smith's two diaries, it looks like the hubbub ended up being much ado about nothing. An auction held over the weekend was unable to secure a sale for either of her journals and the tomes are now up for grabs at a minimum bid of $25,000 for each.
"We have a buy-it-now situation," said Doug Norwine, the director of music and entertainment memorabilia at Heritage Auction Galleries of Dallas. There were at least two bidders on the diaries, but both pulled out of the auction that ended Saturday.
Seriously, what kind of nincompoop has that kind of money to waste on this kind of silly purchase? I'm not kidding. I'd like to know because I need to befriend the kind of person possessing that perfect combination of poor judgment and financial assets, because there are some root canals I have that require some monetary attention.
