Paris Hilton's Jail Time Being Investigated, Cousin Popped for DUI

An investigation is being opened to determine whether or not Paris Hilton received preferential treatment during her recent incarceration. The Sheriff's Department opened an internal probe yesterday and is looking into allegations that the heiress was treated more favorably during her stay than most prisoners. Here are some of the claims that are being investigated, according to sheriff's department representative Steve Whitmore:

-She was given open access to a cordless phone, as opposed to having to wait a pay phone during specific hours.

-She received a new jail uniform, rather than having to wear one of the recycled uniforms worn by most inmates.

-Her mail was delivered to her by a captain, whereas it was usually be delivered by inmate trusties.

-She was released from jail after spending only three days there, the cause being attributed to medical reasons.

Meanwhile, it seems that driving recklessly under the influence seems to run in the family. Paris' cousin was busted for her DUI and will have her day in court next month. Brooke Ashley Brinson was pulled over by police last year while driving a Mercedes Benz registered to Hilton. Allegedly, the 20-year-old was at the wheel of the car and failed a breath test, when it was administered by police. The car was the cause of a four-car collision on the freeway. Yowzah. There's a whole lotta drinking and driving going on with those kids. I know I'm beating a dead horse, but don't rich people have drivers?
