Gentle Giant, Not So Gentle

Brad Garret, the tall and lovable "Everybody Loves Raymond" star, went bat-shit crazy last night. After being taunted by some paparazzi at Nobu, Garret assaulted a TMZ photographer.

"According to several witnesses and FAME, last month Brad noticed a black photog taking his picture, and in Kramer-esque fashion quipped, "I didn't know there were black people in Malibu. Go back to where you came from." Fast forward to last night, where the 6'8" behemoth reached his boiling point when the same black photog questioned him about the alleged comment. Apparently confused, Garrett approached TMZ's cameraman instead and unleashed his right hand, smashing the camera into the photog's face."

Why do I have the feeling that Brad has never seen "Roots" before? Great movie. He should really put the TV Guide down and run out to Blockbuster.

You know, as a black female actor living in los angeles, it is becoming more and more apparent, that there are a lot of celebrities that "think" the way that brad garrett and his friend kramer think. Oh my friends, racism is alive and well in hollywood...no white hoods and sheets needed.

This did not surprise me in the least - I went to see his stand-up act in Vegas on Friday, and all he did for two hours was attack people in the audience. It was mostly based on race and was very mean spirited. I sat in my seat making sure I made no eye contact the entire time....it's nice to see that there are so many douchebags making tons of money!!!

I don't know much about the Malibu Scene, but Brad Garret doesn't seem to be the kind of celebrity the papparazzi are interested in.

Is there really a demand for pictures of this assclown? Seriously, can't wait for him to show up as Herman Munster on the big screen or some other desperately-needed cultural contribution to Western Civilization.

According to my experience working in the industry, most of the racism I've seen comes from less than talented minority actors who make racist claims as an excuse for not getting work. Let's be honest... I'm sure Chris Tucker has no problem bugging out his eyes and doing stereotypical race humor for his 25 million dollar payday. You can't have it both ways black people. I don't blame Colt 45 for making stereotype commercials in the 80's. I blame the actors that took the money to be in those commercials.

N ^^^^You could have made a point but you lost credibility with "most racism" is coming from minority actors. Come on, be real thats simply not true. (Read carefully here, I am not saying that minorities cant be racist too! Everyone has a chance to limit themselves) In fact you proved it by saying that minority actors are willing to play stereotypes to get gigs. And thats because that is the MAJORITY of what is offered to them. Hey, do you really think that ASIAN people are not interested in acting?!! And please what acting have you done. Because if you did you would know that most call sheets are jammed packed with request for white actors. That is simply the truth. Further, when there is a posting for a "ethnic" actor it is usually a stereotype which is why I called it quits. As for the Chris Tuckers, many people are willing to sell their souls a little in hopes that if they get big enough they can then demand a wider variety of roles. I almost wanted to vomit every time I saw a casting call for a "spicy latina!"

At any rate, I read anger in your words. Its okay to be a racist in America. Its your democratic right!! Relish in it but PLEASE don't bullshit yourself to death with your excuses. And yes anyone can be racist no matter color or class.
Prejudice is cool that way. Its totally free!!!

Well said Bunny.

I thought he came off as a dumbass on TV; now here's confirmation he's a dumbass IRL. Racist pig.
