As we all know by now, Nicole Richie breezed in and out of jail in less time than it takes me to do an easy-level advanced-level crossword puzzle when she spent a whopping eighty-two minutes in in jail yesterday afternoon, which, according Nicole's attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley, is nothing out of the ordinary.
"She was really treated like any other inmate," Holley said. "I think every inmate in her position, with that type of charge, would have been treated as she was."Hmm...well, whatever. I've stopped believing that anyone actually goes to jail. I don't know what all this fuss over "overcrowding" is all about. Clearly, no jail time=problem solved. In any case, the L.A. County Sheriff's Dept. said that the starlet was on her best behavior during the entire process, in a statement released to TMZ.

On August 23 2007, at 3:15 PM Miss Nicole Camille Richie reported to CRDF and surrendered herself following a July 27 arrest, she was sentenced to serve 96 hours in County Jail. Miss Richie was accompanied by her attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley and her boyfriend Joel Madden. Miss Richie was booked and processed into the jail system. Miss Richie was cooperative during the process. Based on her sentence and federal court guidelines, Miss Richie was released at 4:37 PM today.
Can you imagine her struggling? Even with the smidge of baby weight she's gained, I have a sneaking suspicion a punch from her feels a lot like getting beat up by a baby...premature baby who's just run a marathon.

It took the 40 minutes to book, search & delouse her. Another 40 minutes to reverse the process once they found out Nicole could slip easily between the bars w/o turning sideways.
