Remember how Lindsay Lohan was originally slated to host this year’s World Music Awards? Well, she was replaced by Denise Richards but of course, because it’s so damn COMPLICATED, Denise missed her flight to the gig and luckily former Destiny’s Child member Michelle Williams stepped up to help co-host with Desperate Housewives star Jesse Metcalfe.

Beyoncé‘s fiery on stage performance of “If I Were A Boy” and “Single Ladies” roused the audience, as did her acceptance speech for her award for Best International Female.

But Mariah Carey seemed to be phoning it in when she arrived 45 minutes late to the event, accepted her Lifetime Achievement prize before bailing.

Awards for World’s Best Rock Act, Best Pop Female and Best Pop/Rock Female were all won by Coldplay, Leona Lewis and Amy Winehouse respectively, none of whom were able to attend the event for one reason or another. Duffy was also supposed to show up, but couldn’t make it because of a cold.

Looking on the bright side of things, at least nothing caught on fire.
