It was Jennifer Lopez‘s night at the 2011 American Music Awards.
Lopez put her younger rival in the shade, with a risqué performance collaborating with Pitbull. The 42 year-old wore a body stocking wrapped in crystals – showcasing her curvaceous figure – the star raunched up a performance which saw her flung around by her backing dancers (including Casper Smart) before ending up grinding on the rapper. Returning later on, Pitbull also performed with Lopez ex-husband Marc Anthony.

Drake performed “Headlines” and was backed wtih a live band and a stage outfitted in little more than red lights.
Kelly Clarkson took “Mr. Know It All” and turned it into a ’40-styled tune, plus, she looked beautiful in her red-sequined mermaid dress.
The best and worst cameo occurred LMAFO‘s performance. Justin Bieber rocked, while David Hasselhoff fizzled.

Mary J. Blige gave the standout vocal performance of the night with “Mr. Wrong” from her forthcoming album My Life II: The Journey Continues, due out on November 21. As the song ended, a picture of the recently departed Heavy D appeared on the screen behind her. “Rest in peace to my dear friend, my loved one, my brother: the lovable and great Heavy D,” Mary said, her eyes swelling with emotion. “I miss you so much, brother.”
