What is up with male British singers as of late. We have Pete Doherty, Boy George and now George Michael all having been arrested for drug possession. How embarrassing for George. Well, I’m sure it was slightly less embarrassing than his previous arrest for trolling for sex in a public restroom.

George Michael was arrested in London yesterday after being found slumped at the wheel of a car.
The 42-year-old singer was held by police on suspicion of drug possession, Britain’s Press Association said. He has been bailed and must return to a police station next month.

PA said police had found Michael in his car, at Hyde Park Corner, after being alerted by a member of the public. The paperwork was filled out under his real name: Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: “We were called by a member of the public to a man seen slumped over the steering wheel of a car on the street close to Hyde Park Corner”.

“An ambulance attended, but the man was not suffering from any injuries so was not conveyed to hospital. “Police attended and spoke to the man, aged 42. A search of the man revealed what was believed to be controlled substances.

“He was arrested on suspicion of possession of controlled substances of category C and on suspicion of being unfit to drive. “Following an examination by the duty doctor in the custody suite he was de-arrested for the driving offence.
