Viola Davis hosts the annual brunch to benefit the Rape Treatment Center (RTC) at Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center to raise awareness about rape and sexual assault. The brunch took place on October 14th at Greenacres in Beverly Hills. The event will honored television writer and producer Norman Lear. The gala was held to recognize RTC’s advancement the care of rape victims and sexually abused children.
Viola Davis’ relationship with the RTC began while she was preparing for her role as a rape victim counselor in the film “Trust,” a movie about teenage sexual assault. Sophia Bush, actress of One Tree Hill, came to support to promote victims’ rights, and change the nation’s consciousness about rape.
