Adele created quite the stir this year, being named Best New Artist at the Grammy’s this year over Justin Bieber in 2009 is clearly doing something right. With a big voice and a big attitude, Adele is advancing her career as we speak. However, according to a recent interview with MTV, she has already reached a high point by filming her own VH1 Unplugged.
“To hear Adele tell it, “Unplugged” is the culmination of a dream that started nearly a decade ago. “My favorite one is the Lauryn Hill one; I’ve got that one on CD as well,” she told MTV News. “I’ve never been so choked up by something, and it was so refreshing … but just to see her [on 'Unplugged'], and that broken look, just her and a guitar, her banter between the songs — I felt like how I feel when I hear Etta James. I was just like, ‘I totally get it. She’s in my head, she’s in my heart, she knows me.”
She goes on to talk about the bond that the show created between her and Ms. Hill. It would make perfect sense then that she would care to share this bond with her fan base today. On the show she sings songs from her albums 19 and 21 in addition to an Aretha Franklin throwback. The show is supposedly filled with emotion and music lovers all around will be tuning in.
