For Oscar night, Alan Arkin was hoping that Abigail Breslin, who played his granddaughter in this year’s much celebrated film, “Little Miss Sunshine,” would be walking home Oscar night empty-handed. It’s not because he’s a mean old man, but for reasons I happen to find pretty sensible. Which may simply mean that I think like a mean old man. From Access Hollywood:
“I hope she loses frankly. No, I’m serious. I am not joking.”
His reasoning?
“I love her and I love her family; and I feel enough is enough,” he said. “She is a kid; she needs to have a childhood.”
Oh Alan, common sense is for poor people.

Thats very nice – very refreshing.
Oh, if only she had gotten to have a rape scene!
