It never ceases to amaze me how floored Hollywood insiders get when a celebrity acts like a regular person. Are they really that hard to come by?
Alexander Skarsgard recently sat down with LA Times Magazine to talk about fame, his homeland of Sweden, and what it’s like to be a wanted vampire. All the while, Alexander was a gracious human being, and for all those Hollywood people, working with someone who’s ego fits through the door is a welcome change of pace.
If you just watch a sliver of the video of his interview (check it out at the bottom of this post), the guy couldn’t be more personable. No wonder Kate Bosworth is all about him. And when Skarsgard talks, his English is so on the money I’d have a hard time believing he’s even Swedish.
The beginning of the article begins with the interviewer (Leslie Gornstein) as she chronicles how shocked her staff is to work with a guy who shows up to his photo shoots with no entourage, parks in the same garage as the crew, and only wants “a cup of coffee” from all those terrified assistants the LA times undoubtedly has on hand. Skarsgard even offered to be his own stand-in when they were preparing the lights for his video shoot. In the life of a celebrity where everything is handed to you, it’s refreshing to see such a down to earth dude.
