To raise money to fight the ugly disease of Alzheimers, the stunning cast members of “Ugly Betty” lent their performing talents to the charity event held last night at the Beverly Hills Hotel. The trio took to the stage for “A Night At Sardi’s” to perform numbers from “Bye Bye Birdie,” under the watchful guise of director, Jason Alexander. (The former “Seinfeld” star–not the ex of Britney Spears.)
Star of “Chuck” Zachary Levi was almost unrecognizable in his fitted black t-shirt, long-ish hair, beard and moustache. He was looking less like a geek and more like Yanni’s sultry nephew from Greece, who I imagine often has to explain, “I’m not gay–I’m European.”
Kirsten Bell looks cute as always with her and I think it’s sweet she brought her grandpa to the event. I’m only kidding, people! I know it’s really Victor Garber, star of stage and screen. I’m just saying…if he wants to not look so old, he shouldn’t stand so close to a former CW star.
Meanwhile, damn, Portia. When smiling looks that painful, it kind of defeats the whole purpose of the act itself.

PUH-LEEZ. How can you insult Garber by saying he should not stand next to someone young because it makes him look old. First of all, he looks great and has many very young fans who follow him around because they think he is sexy. Secondly, kudos to Garber for accepting his age and his graying hair and not trying to be the shallow social x-ray that many of his L.A. cronies are. Until we stop this size 0, cosmetic surgery of the week mind set, we can never truly say we have grown up. God…people age and they die. Get over it. There is something sexy about everyone at every age. Youth is not necessarily the most redeeming feature of a person.
Oh…yes…and lastly, it is really in bad taste to snark at the people who came to give of their time to the Alzheimer’s cause. Garber lost both parents to the disease. Give the guy a break and let him support a worthy cause without being called an old geezer. I can’t wait until YOU are in your fifties and fighting off old age and I can only hope that by then we as a country will have left the youth-at-any-cost bigotry far behind us.
