Director of Amelia, Mira Nair, wasn’t the only one excited to work with Academy Award-winning actress, Hilary Swank. Swank’s co-star in the film, Ewan McGregor, tells MTV News, “She’s an extraordinary actress, so I wanted to work with her, really.
We’d been hoping that a script would come along, and this one cropped
up while I was working in another film.”
Swank too was excited about the project, inspired by Amelia Earhart‘s iconic life. “She certainly was ahead of her time, but even if she were living today, it’s a great lesson in how to live your life and certainly a reminder to me.”
Richard Gere also had something to say on the matter, telling press at the NY premiere for the film, “She wasn’t the best flyer. She was kind of quirky-looking, but she had a mind, she had a heart. She had a writer’s soul.”
