First a Golden Globe nomination and now an Oscar nod, Amy Adams‘ determination to shed her good girl image and transform into the working-class bartender to co-star in The Fighter has paid off. It’s been a quick ride to the top – five years to be exact, but Adams is as humble as they come.

“I didn’t even think I’d ever have a national commercial, let alone three Oscar nominations,” said Adams to Entertainment Weekly.

Although an A-list actress, it’s easy to see who keeps her grounded in this picturesque Los Angeles beach day outing on Jan. 23: her fiance Darren Le Gallo and cutie daughter, Avianna.

Her portrayal of “Charlene Fleming” in The Fighter is a far cry from the Enchanted princess that brought her into the mainstream, but perhaps she’ll have an Oscar to put next to a future muppet on the mantel very soon.
