Oh Lord, one minute, Amy Winehouse is surprising the shit out of everybody by giving an awesome performance and the next minute, she’s f-ing up so badly, she sounds like somebody’s drunk grandmother doing a half-assed karaoke performance. Her recent performance at the British MOBO’s last night saw her appearing only partially lucid, as she seemed to trip up on the lyrics to her own songs and miss the timing on a number of musical cues. It literally was as if she were performing to the beat of a completely different drum–one that only she could hear. A source that spoke with The Sun revealed that before the show, Amy was already acting the fool.
“In her dressing room she was really on edge, then flipped. She was screaming and chucking anything she could get her hands on at the people around her. She wasn’t in a good way.”
I think we should have known from her sloppy beehive that something was up. I have a theory that it’s where all her power is stored. She’s like Samson–if he had also been plagued with a raging heroin problem.

She looks out of it but the girl can carry a tune. What a voice. She has more talent in one hair of her beehive than most of her contemporaries out there today.

Hey, that was not bad for a live performance!!! I like Amy Winehouse – I wish she would get it together, but she is amazingly talented. That performance was NOT as bad as you said. Save it for the Shittney’s of the world!!

She sounded great. You have to understand, this is how she performs a lot of the time. She’ll ‘jazz things us’ and make her performance different than the track on her cd. She’s crazy, we know that. At least she’s still performing. Let’s cut her a little slack.

I know you lot need to find sensational headlines to get people to read your website, hence increase revenue by all the clickies you have enabled….
But here you found nothing. As a live performer, it was a great act. If she was a bit pissed/stoned it would be no different from Oasis, Rolling Stones, Hendrix – all of whom got mind buggeringly pissed before delivering a great, and original, performance.
I do hope she sorts her shit out soon though. She has a lot to offer music lovers, and a big FU to the Papperazzi chasing scum who just want to see anyone fail for your 5 mins of fun

My apologies to Amy.
Prior to seeing this video, I had seen photos of her and thought she was nothing more than a doped out skank of the highest order. I’d read comments about her talent and thought folks must be mistaken.
After seeing this performance, I know what all the fuss is about. I was deeply moved by her raw, inimitable style. This is on the order of Miles, Hendrix, Joplin and other geniuses who functioned best while drugged out. I only hope she can come clean before we lose her.

some of billie holiday’s best performances were when she was stoned. stoned or not, amy’s performance wasnt bad at all….actually it was raw and real! i enjoyed it. somtimes the best talent is backed by a shitload of demons.

Amy at her very WORST is a gazillion times better than any other artist out there at this time. And she always sings live-she is an amazing talent and I love her. Take a lesson Britney!!!
