An Evening Out With Wayne and Lisa on the Sunset Strip

April 6th, 2007 // 2 Comments

Because I’m turning into the poster child for Sunset Plaza, a title I don’t mind one bit, I recently dragged Wayne Ford with me to a champagne “thank you” reception hosted by the collection of stores. Featuring free bubbly, hors d’oeuvres, late-night shopping, music and models, it was a nice night out for an old lady like myself, who is usually tucked deep under her covers soon after the sun goes down.

As always, we were on the look-out for celebrities, but didn’t see anyone–although we did spot a gentleman with a man-purse–and I’m not talking a European-looking, messenger bag thing. No, it was electric blue and the only thing that made it a man-purse was the fact that a man was carrying it.

In any case, we enjoyed ourselves, chatting in the parking lot, whilst scoping the stores in Sunset Plaza that had kept their doors open for the evening’s festivities. Wayne and I wandered into a children’s clothing store and Wayne jokingly asked if they had anything in his size. After a brief hesitation, during which she wasn’t sure if he were serious or not, the girl behind the register informed him, “You know, we do have stuff up to size 14 and 16 that might actually fit you.”

Later on, we took turns posing in the window of the store-front where the reception was being held. I’ve watched enough ANTM to at least know how to do a “broken-down doll” pose, when the occasion calls for it and I also am a fan of Wayne and my “dead-zombie-model” pose that we threw in there for good measure.

All in all, it was a quiet night out and I didn’t actually have to punch anyone in the face to obtain parking, which is always a plus.

Enjoy your weekend kiddies!

I am hoping that you were at a costume party because I can’t believe you actually chose to wear that atrocity out in public for real?
