Who better to take over Oprah‘s throne than Anderson Cooper. The CNN anchor is in talks for a show that will be covering popular topics, but given his background, with a more journalistic POV compared to other daytime shows.
The show is billed as a topical format that will cover everything from celebrities and pop culture to social issues and wide-interest news stories. However, the deal to secure the show is complex because Warner Bros. wants the show but CNN have an exclusive contract with Cooper, seen above outside Live with Regis & Kelly, which he has guest-hosted many times.
It’s suspected he would continue hosting 360 while doing the new show and no deal has been finalized as of yet. With Oprah leaving the marketplace next fall, many networks are trying to find new contenders for talk show hosts, including Jenny McCarthy.
I hope they let him have his own show. I really enjoy his style and the way he approaches a story and someone like him brings a little bit more credibility back to daytime. Yeah, I said it, Barbara Walters.
