Andre Leon Talley Takes A Seat At ANTM Judges Table

February 9th, 2010 // Leave a Comment

After 13 seasons of wooing, Tyra Banks has convinced André Leon Talley, editor-at-large for Vogue, to be a judge on America’s Next Top Model. The deal signs him on for at least three cycles.

He was first approached about the gig eight years ago but, “at that point, I said no because it was the beginning. I was thinking I wanted to see where it goes,” he tells Women’s Wear Daily. Either that, or because the show is in deep trouble, the CW is seriously deepening his pockets!

The fashion world giant (pictured at the Costume Institute
Gala at The Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 4, 2009 in New York City) wants to bring a sophisticated edge to Top Model.

“I felt maybe I could contribute something to it that had not been on
the show,” Talley says. “I just felt that it was a way to step out of
the box and associate myself with a very important American success
story, a very important brand — Tyra Banks.”

This important brand apparently comes with a whole lot of attitude, so let’s hope Talley doesn’t become part of that high Tyra turnover rate.
