Angelina Jolie Funds A School In Afghanistan

Honestly, this woman does it all: kids, career, the man and still finds the time to really throw her weight into causes that count. A school in Afghanistan funded by Angelina Jolie has opened its doors for 800 girls in Tangi.

The UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador donated $75,000 to the school after a 2008 visit. While UNICEF opened classrooms two years ago, many families resisted to sending their daughters there since it was coed. Jolie’s school accommodates these girls

A former teacher in the area emphasized the significance of Angelina’s gift at the opening ceremony: “This is what we
needed here and I believe there is a need for every community if we
want to build the future of our country — to build schools and get
education.”

And on top of all that, the woman still has a movie to film.
Jolie has relocated to Italy where she filmed scenes for “The
Tourist” on the Grand Canal in Venice, Italy on March 16, 2010.
