Angelina Jolie Made Love To By The NYT

June 27th, 2008 // 6 Comments

The New York Times says that Wanted is your typical MatrixyFightyClub jerk-off fest (god, I need to see this) but Angelia Jolie steals the show. Of course she does. She’s Angelina Jolie. It’s the lips and the tats and the feeling that she could either pull massage oil out of her purse or a machete.

“With her mean smiley-sneer and snug clothes, her heels and
hieroglyphics, she cuts the kind of disciplinarian figure who can bring
antsy boys of all ages to their knees or at least into their theater
seats,” the review says. Ooh, I think I need a ciggy.

As for the rest of the movie?

“Things happen in Wanted but no one cares. You could call that
nihilism, but even nihilism requires commitment of a kind and this, by
contrast, is a movie built on indifference.”

Don’t care. Summer movie. Still need to see it. I need help.

Angelina Jolie’s movie less popular than moon Nazis at festival
Right now the Berlin Film Festival is going on and it is showing movies of all kinds and from around the world including one that is the directorial debut of Angelina Jolie, but if ticket sales are any indication there’s a more popular movie showing.

Saw it at the 9am show this morning with several friends. We all LOVED it. Really good- does remind me a lot of Fight Club. After the movie we agreed that you kept thinking McAvoy’s character, Wesley, might best have been played by Ed Norton.

Story is good, keeps ya guessin!

i’m pretty disappointed in her for doing this movie. i understand it’s good for her image in the sense that a gorgeous woman with a gun is seen as very sexy, but all the gun imagery and direct associations made between guns/violence and power is just so irresponsible it’s downright unconscionable in my opinion.

I won’t see it simply because Angelina is in it.

It’s interesting! Can’t wait to see this movie, Many moviegoers are talking about “more of me” at Richromances.com where many directors and actors are looking for friends.

Kitt, I agree. Her oldest son is obsessed with guns as well. Nice.

I saw the movie. The violence did not bother me much. It was not a great movie nor was it an awful movie. It had little plot substance. It was more of a visual effects movie than anything else. I do not find AJ that particularly attractive. She’s just a skinny woman with big lips and a lot of tattoo’s. I did not find seeing her tat’s a turn on. For an old schooler like me, tat’s are a sign of ignorance, not substance nor cultural depth. If you understand Asian culture, a tattoo is worn by the lower elements of that society.
