Angelina Jolie Unleashes Her Inner Femme Fatale In ‘Salt’

March 3rd, 2009 // 16 Comments

Putting her anger issues to good use, Angelina Jolie goes undercover as a cagey secret agent in her new movie, Salt, today.

While
playing a CIA operative who’s accused of being a Russian sleeper spy,
the actress throws on all sorts of wigs and disguises.  The movie is
similar to Bourne Identity or Mission Impossible – except with a female protagonist.  Hence why the part was originally intended for Tom Cruise, who dropped out last summer.  And it’s about time he passed that rusty torch!

But while Angelina is sure to drop pants with her looks, the male cast could use a facelift.  They picked Chiwetel Ejiofor as the dude who’s trying to nail her (not that way) for crimes, while Liev Schreiber plays her ally.  I mean, Liev’s not a bad-looking guy, but seriously?  Daniel Craig gets Olga Kurylenko and we get Liev?  Were Jason Lewis and Robert Pattinson really that busy?  There is no justice.

True to my real-life questions about Angelina, her character
remains elusive to us.  “She’s a character you never know,” producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura tells USA Today. “People who think they know the real her may or may not.”

I’ll take issue here. The male cast is actually filled with good actors. Who wants to look at botoxed to hell Jason Lewis and Robert “my mouth is always open” Pattinson? Definitely not in a spy thriller.

as MichaelK over at dlisted said, you can call this crap “Lara Smith is Wanted in Sixty Seconds”.

seriously, she plays THE SAME CHARACTER in every movie. at least she knows her strengths.

AJ acts the same in almost every movie. It was good for things like Gia and Girl Interupted, but now it’s just old…

That’s what you get with “actresses” who can’t act.

She’s like the female Brad Pitt as far as (no) talent goes.

she looks the same in every picture. i thought the movie was about a spy who wears different disguises…it doesn’t matter since i won’t see the movie..like every other movie she’s ever made, but she’s still a douche.

Seriously was there a need to waste time pointing out that Ejiofor’s character is not trying to “nail” Jolie’s character in a sexual way? Afterall he’s black and black dudes don’t get to do such things to white ladies in Hollywood films.

Wow, what a stretch for her as an actress. The seductive, dark, “action” role. She blows and she’s starting to look pretty ragged for only being in her early 30′s. Fade away…fade away.

I THOUGHT SHE WAS GOING TO TAKE AN ACTING BREAK TO RAISE HER HORDE OF CHILDREN.

I agree with T-Bone…Angelina Jolie’s movies were all action but not worth it…they were all the same. old news. She doesn’t really have good acting skills, she’s like a drift wood when she delivers her line…and why she was chosen to play a guy and rewrite it to fit a woman spy…I don’t get it! Her last movie Wanted is such a trashy movie! And btw, why does Angelina Jolie cannot keep her mouth shut – she always said she wanted to be a stay home mom to take care of her 6 kids and a the older son – Brad Pitt (yeah – he still a kid afraid of his Baby Mama Angie!!!) and then will have 3 – 4 movies lined up! She’s so hypocrite!!! Do us a favor Jolie-Pitts, please leave USA alone and live somewhere else like Africa, France or maybe in Galaxy or other planets so no one will ever follow you! We are so tired of you Angie and Brad you guys are so full of yourself!!!
