Vogue empress, Anna Wintour, has been making the promotional rounds lately to promote the film, The September Issue. The documentary chronicles the making of the 840-page Setptember 2007 issue of the magazine, which features Sienna Miller on the cover.
One stop on her tour included an interview with talk show host, David Letterman, who ribbed Wintour about her reputation as being difficult to work with. He specifically referred to The Devil Wears Prada.
To this, Wintour reponded, “I seem to remember the movie was fiction. And we really like fiction at Vogue.” When pressed by Dave, she continued by explaining, “I’m not always warm and cuddly, but I appreciate wonderful work, creative, talented people and what I liked about the movie is that it really shows all the hard work that goes into the making of the magazine.”
Well-said, Anna. I like how she handled the questions, yet I still get the impression she could throw a fiery hot latte at my head with terrifying precision.
