Few things are more disheartening than performing live on stage to an unresponsive audience. One of those things is having someone throw up while you’re trying to entertain them.
Charming star of Pushing Daisies, Anna Friel, managed to keep singing even after a commotion was caused in the audience during her performance as Holly Golightly in a production of Breakfast at Tiffany’s at the Haymarket Theatre in London’s West End.
Friel explains, “I thought it was late-comers who shouldn’t have been allowed in–but it turned out someone had vomited from the balcony over six people and they were being escorted out to be cleaned up.”
Despite the hubbub, Friel managed to keep her cool. She says, “I carried on singing but almost lost my way as there was such a noise coming from the seats. I almost lost it but I’m proud I kept my concentration.”
At least she didn’t think her performance caused someone to drop dead.
