It’s like the Spring Fling with Brenda and Kelly all over again. Anne Hathaway felt the need to explain why she chose the pink Prada dress for Sunday night’s Academy Awards instead of a Valentino number she had planned on wearing.
“It came to my attention late Saturday night that there would be a dress worn to the Oscars that is remarkably similar to the Valentino I had intended to wear, and so I decided it was best for all involved to change my plans,” Hathaway told People Magazine (via OMG! Yahoo).
“Though I love the dress I did wear, it was a difficult last minute decision as I had so looked forward to wearing Valentino in honor of the deep and meaningful relationship I have enjoyed with the house and with Valentino himself. I deeply regret any disappointment caused.”
Who told Hathaway this kind of explanation was necessary?
According to Us Weekly, Hathaway asked Seyfriend on Saturday to send her a photo of her dress. Upon receiving the pic, “an aghast Hathaway quickly changed course, ultimately going with the controversial Prada dress.”
Hathaway and Valentino have a pretty solid relationship, and the designer even created her wedding gown last September.
“But Amanda, I’m the Oscar winner!”
