This week’s People cover story features a look into the reportedly crumbling relationship between Johnny Depp and French singer/actress Vanessa Paradis.  After nearly 14 years together and two children – Lily-Rose, 12 and Jack, 9 – sources tell the magazine that their courtship is “all but officially finished.”

Once upon a time, Depp and Paradis raised their family away from the spotlight in Plan-de-la-tour, France.  Nowadays they reside in Los Angeles, but haven’t appeared together on the red carpet in over a year. “It’s so sad,” says one insider.

Paradis and Lily-Rose were spotted at The Grove in Los Angeles on January 6th; The family did spend New Year’s together in the Southern California city.

Paradis and Depp met in 1998 on the set of Roman Polanski‘s film, The Ninth Gate.
