Ashton Kutcher Bests CNN In Twitter War

April 17th, 2009 // 2 Comments

Twitter enthusiast Ashton Kutcher edged out CNN in his quest to reach one million followers of his account on the micro-blogging site (see the Twitpic of the win Ashton posted in the gallery below). Reaching his goal approximately half an hour before CNN early Friday morning, Kutcher is now obligated to fulfill his promise to donate 10,000 mosquito bed nets to charity in the name of World Malaria Day.

Both sides received incredible support in their quest to become the first individual account to accumulate one million followers, with CNN also pledging to donate the mosquito nets in the event of a win.

According to Kutcher, “This is David versus Goliath. This just shows how people want to get information. It is about us. It means that one man can have a voice as loud as a media network.”

So loud that his neighbor can’t sleep in late.
