Last night, I saw a screening of the movie “300″ at Warner Bros. Overall, I thought the film was a lot better than “Sin City.” Basically, it’s about the day the 300 Spartans defended their land against an army of 10,000 Persians. The thing that makes the Spartans able to stand up against this many enemies is that they fight as one cohesive unit. Oh, and they can do it in tiny banana hammocks with long flowing scarlet red capes.

At one moment during the movie my friend leaned over to me during a particularly beefy scene and asked, “Do you think there is a homoerotic connection between those two Spartans?” To me, the entire movie had homoerotic undertones. It looked like L.A. Gay Pride and the West Hollywood Halloween Carnaval all rolled into one.

I was going to write a more detailed review, but I saw this review on Movies.com that summed up my feelings:

The Basics: Spartans, after a long day at the gym blasting protein and Creatine shakes to make themselves hugely muscled and eight-packed to outer space and back, enjoy nothing more than waxing their chests and backs, oiling up their pecs, lats, triceps, biceps, quads and glutes, then stripping down to loincloths and capes and chopping off the heads of their enemies.

I now know what I’m going to be for Halloween. I wonder how hard it’ll be to find 299 other hugely muscled, eight-packed, waxed chests and backs, oiled up guys in West Hollywood to join me?
