Backstage at the ALMA Awards in Pasadena

This past Friday, ASL got to take a sneak peek at Backstage Creations’ Celebrity Gift Retreat at the ALMA Awards (check out the red carpet photos here). The “Talent Retreat” was basically one of those awesome, mythical Hollywood practices that you read about in magazines, where the stars are given presents for being famous. And I got a chance to took a look at some of the goodies, and snagged a few of my own.

Eva Longoria, the ALMA Awards golden girl of the evening, was being honored by PADRES Contra El Cáncer, an organization devoted to helping children with cancer. Although the group does focus most specifically with helping Latino children, they exercise a strict policy serving children from all backgrounds. It was at their stand in the gift suite that there were three guitars featured, which were being signed by all the celebrities who passed through. Longoria has been working tirelessly with the organization and pictures of her were peppered throughout the booth.

Of course, Hornitos, a member of the Sauza Tequila family, was one of the few vendors who actually knew ASL and obliged by giving me a big, fat bottle of tequila, as well as a travel dominoes set. First of all, can I just say that whenever I go to these things, it’s totally always the alcohol representatives who know exactly who I am. I’m just saying, readers, apparently, a lot of you enjoy the drink, if you know what I mean. And I was totally stoked to get the dominoes, because I read somewhere that Demi Moore and Ashton Kutchers are avid players and I thought it sounded like fun.

More on the ALMA Awards Gift Suite after the jump…

You got excited to get dominoes because some Hollywood couple likes to play that? That’s how you define your tastes in life? God, that’s really pathetic…
