While on Jay Leno‘s talk show, Ben Affleck confessed that he was recently out to lunch with his daughter Violet Affleck when he spilled their meal all over himself. As his instinct kicked in to curse, he opted to exclaim the German word “Scheisse” instead of a curse word in English.

“Why I came up with that word, i don’t know I have not even been to Germany, but guess that’s a German swear word in my subconscious,” Ben explained. It’s cause everything sounds meaner in German. As for Violet, even after her daddy explained to her that it’s a bad word not to be repeated, she naturally began singing it over and over to her embarrassed father.

And Violet is looking none too happy with her parents in these pictures. She’s probably yelling a string of German obscenities at them like, “Verdammt noch mal, Vater! Ich kann ja selbst laufen! Lass mich los! Ich bin doch nicht ein Arschloch so wie Du! Scheisse!” Or you know, maybe not. I’m just theorizing here.
