Ben Affleck Journeys To The Congo

November 20th, 2008 // 2 Comments

Much like his charitable-minded BFF Matt Damon, Ben Affleck is doing his part to be a celebrity who gives back. The doting father took his fourth trip this year to Congo to raise awareness about the problems facing the Central African nation.

The actor, who stars in the soon-to-be released romantic comedy He’s Just Not That Into You, told the Associated Press, “My hope in being here is primarily to bring attention to the fact that there’s a real lack of [assistance agencies] here, a real lack of money going to these folks.”

Affleck looked very somber as he took a tour of the refugee camps for displaced people–as well he should. Being a humanitarian is no joke! At least that’s people who aren’t soul-dead like us say.

What is the meaning of all these fake ‘stars’ coming to Africa to insinuate that Africa is full of all suffering and no prospects. Aren’t there some noble, laudable things going on in Africa to balance these news?

Anyway, my advise for Ben is that he should focus more on his family. He look like someone who hasn’t gotten over ‘losing’ JLO.

Perhaps you could offer suggestions on where people can make donations, or politicans that should be written to, in order to help these people out.
