when a “celebrity” goes outside, to a PUBLIC place, either alone, or with their family then gets upset because photos are being taken
of them from a distance is ABSURD
then to throw a ball at the photographer,
only guarantees one thing – the photographer
will get a GREAT SHOT of a celebrity looking
and acting like a complete FOOL
i am well aware some paparazzi use
really trashy tactics to elicit a reaction from
the celebrities they are trying to photograph
however,
given what looks to be a far shot,
Ben looks like he was the one who go balled*

yeah, you can say all the crap about ben because you are not a celebrity dad and you’re not in his shoes.
good thing he just threw a ball on them… if i were ben, i would throw a grenade :) and i don’t give a shit if they take a shot of me looking like that. they always try to take a stupid shot of celebrities anyway.
i feel sad for this celebrities who just wanted a little privacy for a little moment.

Ben is a tool for throwing balls at the paparazzi if he truely wanted privacy for his family, he married the wrong person. Jennifer Garner is all about getting as much attention and fame as she can, and if she has to exploit her children to get it then she will and does, she married Ben because of his fame, she smiles for the paparazzi, she doesn’t mind their presence because she knows that besides Ben they are the only thing keeping her famous at this point. Ben needs to stop acting so stupid, suck it up and smile when he is out with his family.

Perfectly said Nicole. Jen Garner is the most overrated, overpaid and worst actress in Hollywood and now she’s trying to listen to her publicist who told her to milk the “great mom” image for what it’s worth – perhaps to cover up her falling career. She’s only famous for being Mrs. Ben Affleck and having his kids – she knows it too. Ben wake up…You still have potential and don’t let Jen #2 bring you down. Your kids will be fine since you never hang out with them anyways. Ben should follow Matt’s path and marry a NON-CELEB or at least a celeb who doesn’t crave attention like Jen G. (a Liv Tyler or Rachel McAdams perhaps).

I personally think Ben is suffering from severe Depression. He has all the classic signs and looks miserable all the time. Not at all normal behavior for a new dad, he should be over the moon happy.

Mia, I think Ben is over the moon happy with his family and that is why he and Jen both resent the paparazzi taking picso of their children. Jen is a bit more subtle in showing her displeasure because as she has explained a million times she doesn’t want the kids to be upset by the photogs. Makes perfect sense to me. Why don’t you and the other Jen haters stop making asinine comments about her. It’s not changing anybody’s opinion about her. They know the truth. She has her own fan base before she ever met Ben. Stop trying to rain hate on a beautiful family. Get your own life together.

Actually, Matt told Ben after JLo to date a non celeb and he did (just a regular Boston girl who worked for a car company or something) Unfortunately, he got tons of pubicity for it as did she so I guess he figured I might as well just date who I want whether they are famous or not and got together with the person who is perfect for him, J.Garner. The level of interest in Ben’s private life has always been much higher than Matts and that proved it Besides, Believe me, Jen had a big fan base before Ben and got in tabloid pics before Ben too. So its not just because of him and the babies. You folks sound so bitter and jealous. Probably bitter Michael Vartan fans.

While the Evil One understands that celeb’s like to try to live normal lives outside of their profession they also signed up for a life in the public eye, it’s what sells their movie’s, project’s book’s etc. that makes them a butt load of dineros!
That being said there are also times when the Pap’s act like total A-holes pushing, shoving, screaming and goading which no kid, celeb kid or not, should be exposed to!
Overlord’s verdict: Affleck is an over exposed-under talented ass-hat with the mentality of a 15 year old! As for setting such a great example in front of your kids Benny-Boy you are a Freakin’ TOOL!

the statement above is why people will never understand Ben with their closed minds .While it’s true a lot of celebrities love the cameras love and use every opportunity for publicity.Ben is no Paris Hilton.If he was an over exposed under talent as you say ,nobody would want to work with him and everyone that has worked with him have only good things to say about him.Maybe next time he should act fake like Heidi and Spencer and smile and wave to the cameras.Because that’s what tabloid freaks like

I like Jen and Ben..and think that Violet is a real cutie pie..and I certainly wouldn’t want a pack of papz running after me and my kids, and screaming thier names..I’ve seen it and its a terrible thing..Its one thing to take pics of the celeb..but when the kids are there, they should keep a respectful distance, and not scare the hell out of them..I don’t blame Ben..hope he hit one of them in the head!

Ben looks as miserable as when he was with Jennifer Lopez. Jennifer Garner is a conniving and ambitious, she knew Ben was never going to marry her if she didn’t get pregnant. Ben doesn’t look happy it is not because of the paparazzi, you dumb super jen-fans, he gets like when he feels trapped, Jennifer Garner doesn’t make him happy and never has.

I disagree about Ben being a no-talent. His work as a director and recent gigs in State of Play and Hollywoodland were exceptional and regarded highly by the critics. I saw both performances.

Trust me, the Afflecks WANT this attention. If they didn’t get it, they wouldn’t be working. It’s not like either Ben or Jen have had a hit movie in YEARS at this point! Without the pap attention, they would be irrelevant.
And don’t go blaming Vartan/Foley/JLo fans for hating on the Afflecks: these two media whores have EARNED the hatred through their own hypocrisy.

Fair play to him!! There are literally hundreds of pics from this family outing, so the photographer must have been running alongside them snapping away – what an absolute turd. It’s such an invasion of privacy and throwing a ball is no more harmful than swatting at an irritating fly… which is exactly what this pap is. I’d have got his camera and smashed it on the ground, so fair play to Affleck for showing considerable restraint.
