“It’s wonderful to do a scene without pants” Ben McKenzie told Ellen Degeneres on her show yesterday.

McKenzie stripped off the wool pants of his police uniform while shooting the show Southland, which was picked up by TNT after NBC let ‘er go. He and costar Michael Cudlitz had joked about it before, since they do so many scenes in a patrol car showing them just shoulders up. Ben walked the walk though when they shot a car scene in the August desert.  He said his red boxer briefs and pale legs were not a great look for the day, but next time he would be more prepared and he pulled out some Ellen boxers from his jeans.

I don’t watch this show, but he is so much sexier here than I remember him on OC I think I’m going to start.
