Bethenny Frankel Faked Being Stranded At Sea For Reality Show

Last month, Bethenny Frankel told E! that she and nine other passengers, including husband Jason Hoppy, were on a sailboat between Nantucket and Block Island that went off course after the GPS malfunctioned.  “The captain had to call the Coast Guard and we were hit by a big wave. It was very scary. It was traumatic. Absolutely traumatic,” Frankel said.  Not so, according to Tim Russell, who was called to tow the boat around 5 a.m.  According to the New York Daily News, Russell told Jewish Journal that Frankel’s therapist, who has been sailing for 30 years, called him after the Coast Guard refused to help because the boat wasn’t in danger.

It turns out – brace yourselves – that the scenario was set up for Frankel’s reality show, Bethenny Ever After.  Frankel claimed that she and the other passengers were stranded at sea for 20 hours, but when Russell went to help them out, he found that the GPS was working just fine and that they boat was perfectly capable of returning to the harbor.

Frankel also lied about tipping Russell $2800 for his troubles on national tv, to which Russell denied ever happened.  Frankel also joked that she’d sleep with him as a tip.  Russell’s response?  He’d rather be “shipwrecked.”

Like we didn’t know it was all FAKE! Come on you had to be brain dead not to know it was completely staged!

I wouldn’t put any stock into what Mr. Russell has to say. Isn’t he the same nut job that complained about going out help them and complained that he didn’t get credit or a reward from Bethany for doing so. As I said then, Bethany was a guest on a boat that had problems. If this had been a circle line cruise would he expect a reward and accolades from all the passengers on the cruise. He is just a publicity seeker. trying to get his 15 minutes of fame.
