Bette Midler was looking mighty green for her Hulaween benefit event, held to raise money for the New York Resoration Project (NYRP). She was flanked on stage by a festive-looking Sheryl Crow, who appears to have brought two costumes for the event–a member of the Village People, as well as what I’m thinking might be a cave woman? Oh, who knows. It’s about having a good time, people! And have a good time, these celebs did, while raising over two million dollars toward the cause, which Mayor Bloomberg explained as follows:

“Hulaween is a special event – benefiting a wonderful organization. None of it would have been possible without the marvelous Bette Midler. For 12 years, the New York Restoration Project has done so much to make this a cleaner, more beautiful New York. We are working together to plant one million trees in New York City over the next ten years — the equivalent to 40 times the number of trees in Central Park.”

How coquettish is Martha Stewart in her little donkey costume. Seeing her dressed up as what could be interpreted by a more crass, less-cultivated individual as myself as an ass, I’m reminded of this photo.
