Betty White rules.  She turns 89 this week and I couldn’t be happier that she’s still getting after it.  White stars in the popular TV Land sitcom, Hot In Cleveland which premieres its second season tonight at 10 pm ET.  My favorite part about Betty White is her attitude.  She has all the right in the world to be cranky and elitist, but White is still thankful to be a working actress.  If the golden gal has taught us anything, it’s to not rest on your laurels.  She told The Huffington Post,

“We’ve gone through this huge youth worship, where once you were over 16, you were over the hill,” she notes. “Now, I think the problem with Hollywood youngsters is that they do one good role and they get a modicum of stardom — immediately — and they think that’s going to last forever. They tend to abuse it a little bit. You musn’t do that. You have to stay appreciative and professional.”

We all have our celebrity crushes, and White is no exception.  She’s got a big ole’ crush on Robert Redford, and every time someone asks her what she hasn’t done yet, White responds with, “Robert Redford.”  You cheeky old gal!  Good Morning America interviewed White yesterday and surprised her with a birthday cake adorned with, you guessed it, a picture of Robert Redford.  Swooooon.
