The Fashion Rocks show had Jay-Z rapping, while Beyonce sung and danced in a mini-skirt that apparently looked like it was made from bananas, and performances from Kanye West, Nelly Furtado, the Scissor Sisters and the Black Eyed Peas.

Sir Elton John was also there and had this to say about the younger generation of pop stars, who currently dominate the charts, “Our day in the sun has gone, as far as radio play goes,” he said. “And we’re okay with that.”

And this of course confused me, because it seems to me that rather than bowing out gracefully, isn’t it around the time Elton should be getting caught performing lewd acts in a park or picking up trash on the side of the highway per court ordered community service?
