On the Today show Meredith Vieira got Billy Ray to chat about the Vanity Fair pictures of his daughter, in which she appears to be topless. The “Achy Breaky” singer once again took the opportunity to claim that he had no idea the photo shoot would include such a pose. “I didn’t know they were going to strip her down and wrap her in a blanket,” Cyrus told Vieira.

In addition, Billy Ray again explained that he wasn’t present during the “topless” part of the photo shoot. He scooted off to perform for the troops. As for the part where he posed with Miley and the two struck a rather intimate pose, Cyrus said simply, “That’s just a daddy who loves his daughter a whole lot.”

Hmm, I still have yet to have these pictures explained without employing the phrase “dick tease.” I do have to say though, that I’m with Billy Ray on his attempt to just leave it behind him, especially when he explains, “My dad always told me, ‘The more you stomp in poop, the more it stinks.’” But then again, I’m a sucker for poop metaphors.
