Brad Pitt Rumor Of The Day

June 6th, 2006 // 21 Comments

Did Brad Pitt name his daughter after a bar? A tip from a reader let us know that Shiloh Bar & Grill was popular bar for under-21 crowd in Columbia, MO where Brad went to college. The bar has closed and re-opened as much nicer place since Brad was in college.

We are thinking that since Brad is 40, he didn’t have a problem drinking when he was under 21 due to the fact that the drinking age was 18 back then. It’s a nice theory though.

Pullllease! I doubt he named his daughter after a bar, Siloh has deep meaning behind it … I’m more interested in hearing, “He went to college” ?? Did he actually graduate ??

  2. janie | June 6, 2006 at 2:52 pm

Brad did not go to college in Columbia, but Southwest Missouri State University (now called Missouri State University) in Springfield, MO.

didn’t some indian chief pick shiloh’s name anyways?

no, actually he did go to mizzou (university of missouri-columbia), but he didn’t graduate. He was a couple credits short from graduating, and he left to pursue a career in acting. I’m a mizzou alumni and went to Shiloh a lot! Cool bar, but I doubt he named his child after it.

The drinking age in Missouri has been 21 since the 70s

I love that pic of them. Brad looks as if he’s restraining himself from jumping her right there for all to see lol.

No, they had the Governor or religious leader (something like that) of Nambia name their baby Shiloh. Sounds like someone may have just wanted a little attention.

Me thinks McKenzie believes everything she reads.

Shiloh is a silly name. Maybe the next baby will be named Appomatox? General Custer? Ulysees Grant Corinth Jolie-Pitt? Come on. Kids are cruel — why saddle a child with a bizarre name which invites teasing?

Hey #1 Pitt fan, you are so right! Just like in the movie Mr & Mrs Smith, this photo reveals Brad and Angie’s passion. Angie looks like she’s totally confident and aware of her power over Brad. He looks like a lovesick puppy dog being forced to “sit.” Wow! I’ll bet their first time together rocked the stars. Hot! Hot! Hot!

A.Jolie is a piece of work. Mental issues galore and FULL of herself. Gives her child the name of “new messiah”…she must have known that was one of the definitions…cockey bitch.

Shiloh is the name of my friend’s mutt. How precious this abby must be….it’s no different than any other child. 20 bucks says it grows up to be nasty like Jolie’s brother….poor thing, never stood a chance

I’m a Mizzou alum too. I don’t think he named his kid after the bar, but there is just something about Shiloh (the bar). It’s one of the bars in town where you are sure to spot the Wal-Mart aristocracy, Pinkel, and other rich jerks that run this town. Hey it could have been worse–Harpos, Hidelberg, Black&Gold, Shakespeares! Anyone from COMO knows what I’m taking about. Oh, and ku sucks!

    Check out Shiloh’s website: http://www.shilohbar.com/

Yes, it’s mostly a hole in the wall but with a decent patio.

i was watching the movie “Rumor Has It” and i found it strange that jennifer has a line in the movie that says shiloh, she was referring to the battle in the civil war.i don’t beleive it has any bearing on the name that angelina and brad picked for the child, but i thought it a little funny.

  18. INKC | June 27, 2006 at 1:03 am

When Brad Pitt was at Mizzou, the bar in question was known as T. Baker’s, a dive for underage kids. The name wasn’t changed to Shiloh until several years after he left. So, nice theory, but no dice.

  19. An Inconvenient Truth | June 27, 2006 at 8:00 am

Janie, you ignorant slut. Brad Pitt did not go to college at Southwest Missouri State, and Shiloh was not around when Brad was a student. The bar was called T Bakers when Brad was at Mizzou. It became Shiloh around 1989/1990.

  20. Mizzou Greek | March 14, 2010 at 11:35 pm

Brad Pitt was a Sigma Chi at Mizzou- he’s in the composite! So he definitely went here. :) I’m a Mizzou Student too. I wish he would have named her Big 12, after the bar.

Perhaps Angelina and Brad could name their next son Kennesaw Mountain–wait, that’s been done already!!!!!
