The day before her grandson Barack Obama is set to face off against John McCain in the presidential election, Madelyn Dunham has passed away at the age of 86. The Democratic candidate and his sister Maya Soetoro-Ng released a statement to the press about their deceased grandmother, who had been battling cancer.

“She was the person who encouraged and allowed us to take chances. She was proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and left this world with the knowledge that her impact on all of us was meaningful and enduring,” the statement said.

A small ceremony will be head for family “at a later date” for Dunham, who enjoyed a close relationship with Barack. In his book, Dreams From My Father, the presidential hopeful presented her as an integral figure in his life.

Obama described his grandmother as a “typical white person”…
So, based on the comments from sahar I guess looks alone should be the basis of one’s vote.
Sheesh. The dumbing down of America continues…
