Leave it to Pete Wentz and Ashlee Wentz to be responsible and wait to confirm that Ashlee Simpson is pregnant with her first child. This was posted on the FriendsOrEnemies.com website:
This just in from our favorite newlyweds:
“While many have speculated about this, we wanted to wait until after the first trimester to officially confirm that we are expecting our first child. This is truly the most joyous time in our lives and we are excited to share the happy news and start our family.”

Ignoring the spam comments, it’s about damn time they admit to it.
What bothered me more was that Pete got all pissy when people asked him about it before, and claimed that there was “a pregnancy witch-hunt” whenever people announce an engagement in Hollywood. Too bad that so-called witch-hunt was accurate. I know that people sometime want to wait to tell people about their pregnancy news, but wouldn’t a simple “no-comment” have been better than futzing around with the press over it? That, and getting married within a month of announcing the engagement was a dead giveaway. It was still under the gun (so to speak) and would’ve had the same status if you had waited until after your first trimester, so what was the rush?
Hell, I’m not famous, and I still haven’t told most people my news…but I told the office gossip and she’ll let it be known soon enough.
