Britney Spears was in the giving spirit yesterday in Mexico. The singer gave a free “thank you” concert for 50,000 fans.

The show will kick off the city’s $2.6 million Christmas celebration, The Hollywood Reporter reports, and is expected to draw in 50,000 people.
Spears tweeted, “Can’t keep the secret any longer… I’m staying an extra day in Mexico to do a free show this Sunday!!”
Spears also took to her Tumblr page to express her appreciation for her fans.

“I’ve had so much fun and received so much love from my fans all over the world while performing my Femme Fatale tour which I am grateful for,” Spears wrote. “I want to return some of that love so I’ve decided to give my fans in Mexico a special night and perform my Femme Fatale show for free.”
The free show was kind of a makeup for the abrupt cancellation of the Onyx Hotel Tour when she got injured and for not heading south during the Circus tour. Or so speculation says.
