Britney Rejects Her One Chance At Salvation

Oh no, sweetie. This was it. This was the outstretched hand, pulling you back from the precipice. And what did you? You gave that hand the finger and buried your face in a box of Little Debbie Zebra Cakes. Justin Timberlake and Timbaland had written a song for Brit. She was supposed to fly out to Virginia Beach to Timbaland’s studio to record it. And then they were all going to perform it on the VMAs. Brit didn’t show up. Bitch, someone giftwrapped a comeback for your redneck ass! If you dont’ want it, and this is the case – the move your ass back to the Deep South and work at the Piggly Wiggly!

A music industry source said Timberlake wrote the duet specifically for Spears. Although they wouldn’t be together in the studio, his voice would have been mixed with hers later.

“Timbaland set aside a week out of his crazy schedule to do this – and then, just before she was supposed to fly out, Britney abruptly canceled the session and refused to do the song.

“It’s crazy,” the insider added. “She’s looking for a comeback, and this would have not only been a huge hit, but something she could have opened the MTV Video Awards with and really blown everyone away.”

And then there was the usual stuff about how she’s bipolar, and the kids are drinking soda pop, and Nana Spears once walked all the way to Mobile just to get some corn fritters to go with the pulled pork. Jive Records is standing by her crazy ass, which means they want a stake in the tragic biopic in twenty years.

She is even stupider than we have all given her credit for. Ya’ll

That’s the question — did she say no or did her label encourage her not to do it.

Anyways, I agree — that was a decent opportunity for her to get back on the radar and be associated with a couple of “popular” artists (although I’m not a fan of either one of those guys, quite frankly ;)

Brit Brit — I’m standing behind you, but wondering who’s advising you. Quit the drugs, get some clothes on and get back to work.

Um, this is just a supposition, but perhaps the song sucked (like most everything the two have participated in over this last meagre musical decade) and she is finally coming to her senses?

    Mmmmmm…pulled pork and hoecakes…

She’s either mental beyond hope or bitter about Missy’s lyrics on “Bounce” (“Like Britney Spears I wear no drawers.”) Whatever, though. I hate Spears.

This duet would be horrible anyway. It would just be Justin watering down his vocals so as not to completely embarrass her… not to mention that her new album has to be really fresh and new pop, and Timbaland/Timberlake collaborations are really starting to sound like the same tired song now.

ya’ll know she’s just waitin’ for the right moment to debut her new collaboration with paris and linds…. can’t just timba/justin get in the way of celebufame!

    This seems pretty stupid.

I read an article yesterday where timbaland responded to this report – said he had no idea about any of this and didn’t want to deal with her crazy. Actually said that it would be a disaster!

sheesh. she doesn’t realize that this is the only offer like this she’ll probably get.

not a fan of either of those two either, and the song may very well suck (in some people’s opinion), but it would have been a HUGE moneymaker for her, as well as some much needed GOOD publicity.

T-Bone, my friend. You are going to be singing that same song for the rest of your (or her) life. “Britsy Witsy, I loves ya’ll, but pull your finger outcher nose and take that baby blanket off the hot stove! I’m standed behind you!” GO STUPIDITY!

If this story is true (which I highly doubt), she might be making the right decision. She has one chance to make a comeback and if she’s not ready and makes a fool out of herself (inevitable) then her career could really be over.
