I feel really sad for Britney. I made a lot of mistakes when my son was a baby. It would have been awful to have cameras following me around all the time. I think she is a good mother, because her son is with her a lot. She carries him, usually not the nanny. TEAM BRITNEY!

You need to know things like you can’t drive with your baby in your lap or put him in a front-facing car seat before he is both 1 year old and 20 lbs (which you would know if you read the damn manual) and that babies can’t be in the back of convertibles with the top down because the sun is dangerous and it makes it very hard for them to breathe. All these incidents together are very damning. It shows a real lack of concern and initiative regarding how to be the best possible mom. Being a mother is REALLY REALLY HARD. Believe me, I know, I’m a new mother too, and I’ve made mistakes. But come on, girl! You obviously were way too immature for this, and I am just disgusted that you are pregnant again.

I do feel a little bad for Britney, cause it seems she just doesn’t know any better. But she needs to take a step back and chill the hell out. Her life is out of control. Yes, I do have a 1 year old daughter, and I’ve made my share of mistakes, but I can honestly say I actually read the carseat instructions before using them, I have never had my child out of her car seat, she has never fallen out of her highchair (I use the straps that are there for that exact reason), and if I was carrying a drink I would definitely have dropped the drink and caught my baby without even thinking about it. Maybe if she did one of these things it would be forgivable, but she is straight up incompetent. She needs to be very vigilant about her son, and she’s just not very smart and not very protective.

Everyone should leave her alone. Yeah she makes mistakes, but so does every new mom. I don’t even think she was there when her son fell out of the highchair, I belive it was her nanny that was taking care of him. Maybe she did drop her drink to catch him, but those wouldn’t be the pictures they would show. At least she spends times with him and she’s learning how to be a mom, unlike so many other stars.

My son is 2 now, and I had a couple of bad mother moments. But none of them were car seat snafus or nearly dropping him or him falling out his unattended high chair. She was probably wearing heels when she almost fell…and all the people who have told her not to wear them while pregnant are saying “See, I told you.” She is crying out of guilt, and fear from almost harming her child. I feel sorry for her to a certain degree, but not to the extent of pity. She cannot spit on her fame now. When you sell your soul for it, you get the good and the bad.

people, please, leave her alone. it is so easy to be off balance and trip when you are carrying a baby, and especially easy to trip when you are pregnant – it just makes you clumsy. i’m pregnant and i keep dropping things all the time. plus she was probably trying to get away from all those vultures. she’s got enough problems being married to that jerk-ass loser.

Clearly you are a FANATIC of Ms. Spears. You fail to realize that no one is critiquing her abilities at being a celebrity. We are mostly criticizing her lack of parental responsibility. Whether she is hick from the Louisiana or an uptown Manhattanite, she needs assistance in parenting and she needs to start with not leading such a public life. Liv Tyler did it, Reese Witherspoon did it, why can’t Britney take a tip from them. Her priority, like she says, are her childre. She needs to not just talk the talk, but walk the walk.

I think Britney is learning the lesson of all new mothers a little late. It’s not all about you any more, honey. The little guy is your first priority…..first over the cute high heels, the nice cold, refreshing drink, and the cute sporty convertible.

well there is the argument that she looks worse than normal new moms because all of her bad moves are caught on tape. but the scary part to me is that all of her blunders caught on tape are only in public, with the exception of the high chair incident which was covered up longer than it should have (they should have rushed that boy in to the hospital right away and no one would criticise her). how much more goes unreported? do her bodyguards follow her around the house too? making sure she doesn’t land on the poor kid? i shudder to think of what she might be feeding him.
