Why is she dressed in all black, you might be asking yourself? It’s because she’s in mourning for her career and rightfully so. Now that the backlash in the media over Britney’s less than impressive performance at the VMAs has her scrambling for excuses as to why she looked like she was marching around like a zombie in lingerie. The first rumors are circulating that Brit-Brit’s blaming Sarah Silverman and Criss Angel for her not having any pep in her step. It’s being reported that she overheard Sarah Silverman’s monologue during rehearsal and was rattled by the jokes about her that Sarah planned on making during the show. As for Criss Angel, Britney’s upset that he was flirting with other women while she felt he should have been focusing on her and the rehearsal of her performance. Additionally, it sounds like the reason her performance with the illusionist was scrapped at the last-minute due to insurance concerns over the danger of the stunt. Seeing as how he walks around looking generally shady, she probably figured it’s worth a shot to blame him too for good measure. Hell, I blame Criss Angel for why my toilet sometimes clogs. Why? Because he’s an illusionist and I don’t trust ‘em.

so you are too classy to show she was not wearing any underwear on these pictures. Oh so you dont want to blind your readers, Ok I understand, then thanks.
actually for a woman who had two babies so close in time, her body looks ok – but not in the get up she was wearing. she could have dressed differently and looked better. what a lost girl she is. hopefully she won’t stay so stubborn and really look at what people are saying to her. on the other hand firing your hairstylist just before you go on indicates she’s still thinking she’s right.
We’ve been having quite a laugh talking about Brittany’s VMA trainwreck video over at Highbrid Nation. Its ashame, I feel like her comeback has been derailed before its even begun. Oh and someone tell her about that weave. Looks horrible. Just rock the short hair.
Is that her real hair in these pictures ? Not bad at all.
PLEASE, for the love of God, someone close to her , who cares for her, build a big bonfire and burn all her wigs.
Her performance, in my opinion, was right on par with where she is in her life. She’s not the Britney of three or four years ago, so I don’t know why people were thinking they’d get a performance like back in the good ole days. But at least she had the balls to get on stage and do her thing. I can’t imagine how much anxiety that would cause, what with feeling like the world hates you and all. So I say good for her. As for Sarah Silverman, I thought her jokes about Britney were crass, tacky and out of date. Also really rude considering Britney had just exited the stage. I noticed no one laughted much at Sarah Silverman, and in my opinion if anyone made an ass of themselves, it was her, but not in a good way.
She’s unprofessional.
And she earns $750,000/mo for WHATTT?
I blame MTV for being too cheap to insure Chris Angel’s stunts! if I was Brit, I would have pulled out of the show too. I mean, she rehearsed and planned this elaborate act with Chris Angel, and MTV says no, we’re not paying for it! So we were left with the half-assed, unrehearsed performance that we saw! Die MTV!
Did anyone else see that her heel was broke? I am not a brit fan… but I have to give it to her for not running off stage.
Sarah righteously called dirty, vulgar, deluded Britney out for verbal abuse to her sons.. “you are mistakes and ruined my marriage.” honestly it’s no secret to that MTV music crowd Britney is a lousy singer, dancer, and inhuman.. least of all good mother! Tell the world Sarah! Public humilation maybe the only way Britney gets it!
BEST headline/caption of the day!
I felt sorry for her. She seemed underprepared and extremely nervous. I actually like the song.
I don’t think Sarah Silverman is funny. It’s base humour – who can’t make fun of someone?
Leave Britney alone. She’s a good girl with a good heart. Shoot your scathing remarks at someone malicious or deliberately cruel. She’s neither. And I hope her CD sells millions, in spite of her performance.
Leave Britney alone? WTF? She starts her new song with “It’s Britney BITCH!” She doesn’t need any of you people to defend her.
Girlfriend had no business being up there. She was unprepared to deliver what her fans had been hoping for. The fans defended her House of Blues performances with nothing but excuses. And now we have more. If she wants to be left alone, she needs to GO AWAY. She’s 25 years old, not a baby. I’ll leave her alone when she stops seeking my attention.
Britney is the scapegoat here. MTV set her up to fail. MTV has a LONG history of failed music award shows, and they know it. What better way to take the focus off of themselves than to put Britney on first (in a completely unrehearsed number) and then let her take the blame for the show’s failure. Come on — the ONLY people to blame for this TRASHY, DISGUSTING, TERRIBLY choreographed show, are the MTV producers and directors. P.S. Everyone looked like sh*t on that show last night, and either there was something wrong with the horizontal button on my t.v. or everyone but Jennifer Garner looked fat. So whatever — blame Britney if it makes you feel better. But I blame no one but MTV.
When you consider the competition out there now for the Princess of Pop title, she hasn’t really got what it takes anymore. A few trundling side steps in a pair of broken high heel hooker boots, while miming out of time to the lyrics, just doesn’t cut it. I also think her time is up. The only hope is if she’d DISAPPEAR for 6 months, get in shape, get the dance moves right and then make a splashy comeback.
How can someone who is photographed everyday make a comeback?
It should have been ‘It’s Britney….WTF?’ istead of ‘It’s Britney BITCH’.
The only thing stupider than BSpears are her apologists. This cooze flushed all hope of a comeback away years ago. FACE THE FACTS, SHE’S OVER!!!
But her brother’s kinda hot, though…
sorry, t-bone, I know you love her, but I disagree that the entire fiasco of her performance was MTV’s fault.
she could have very easily said no to this offer, but she wanted to do it. as for her rehearsal, the word is that she was partying for the three days leading up to the show. apparently, MTV told her to “behave” and be well rested for her performance, but she chose to party and stay out late instead.
while I agree that MTV is not exactly the pinnacle of production, it’s hardly their fault that her performance was so mediocre.
you say “leave her alone” but it’s SO clear that she doesn’t want to be left alone. she wants to be in the spotlight, but doesn’t want to take any criticism with her praise…you can’t have it both ways.
I agree with green cardigan; she needs to GO AWAY for 6 months, get in shape and then make a splashy return when she’s TRULY ready.
nasty – I don’t “love” her, but I think she’s a good kid.
MTV show sucked and still think they’re to blame. I mean seriously, what real producer/director would ever allow such an all-around lame live show??? While I can admit that Brit’s performance wasn’t good, man — I don’t know — whose was??? Everyone looked awful! Everyone was lip-synching. I had never seen anything so horrible. Britney was just one piece of the horror, in my opinion.
“love her” or “think she’s a good kid”…either way, bottom line is that you are “on her side”.
however, you said that MTV set her up to fail…I simply don’t agree. she had the choice to not perform if she wasn’t ready, and instead she chose to not rehearse and put on a lousy performance. hardly the fault of the MTV producers. if the rest of the show sucked, that could be blamed on them, but not her performance.
and she may be a “good girl with a good heart”, but her behavior is how people are going to judge her and, unfortunately, her behavior has not been that of a good girl.
I agree that she was nervous. That’s a sign that she wasn’t prepared but I did hear that they pulled her show about 2 days b-4 she was to go on stage. HOw is that her fault and not MTV’s fault? I don’t get that.
She’s still more attractive than 90% of the rest of the world and she still has more money than 95% of the world. So Britney be alright!
Hathaway, are you saying that because Britney is prettier than most and richer than most that she’s ok? You’ve got messed up standards.
Britney sucked last night, plain and simple. I was raised never to blame others for your situation. IF (big IF) it’s true that things changed last minute, she should have been a professional enough to adjust. Before anything Britney is/was a performer. She’s not a good singer but the girl can dance and put on a show, she used to be a highlight. I watched last night because I was curious to see if she could do it. She was terrible. Her usual lip-synching was off, at some points it seemed like she just stopped trying to mouth the words, her dancing was awful. It’s like she just didn’t have enough endurance or cardio to perform a three minute dance routine. That’s what smoking does to you.
So no, she has no one to blame but herself. She was partying the night before, lord knows what was in her while she was on stage (and you know something was), she didn’t even know the words to the song and she seemed ready to collapse. All her years of training, she should be skilled enough to improvise or learn new choreography quickly. The back-up dancers were doing their part, how come they knew it and not her?
And I doubt she heard Sarah Silverman. Britney’s only in her world, as are all the others. Do you really think they are just standing around backstage listening to stuff or do you thing she was likely surrounded by “handlers” who were monitoring her carefully.
I miss the old Britney and I hope she comes back but she didn’t last night and it was her fault.
Regardless of the reason (and PS, I just re-watched it on my Tivo and didn’t see a broken heel?), it was painful to watch. She’s a professional; this is her business, her life…she could do these kind of moves in her sleep if she wanted, and has (fortunately or unfortunately) grown up performing. What we saw last night was a fumbling, bumbling, out-of-sorts person that was a shell of the woman before…
Strangely enough, I felt the same way when I used to watch Anna Nicole Smith’s show on E, stumbling around and trying so hard to be coherent, when clearly she wasn’t…and I used to think, “Does anyone else SEE this? Can’t anyone help this poor girl?” Same feeling. Exactly.
Final note: Am SO sick of reading about Britney being “out of shape…” Dear God, I’ll take that out-of-shapeness ANY DAY!!!
I totally agree with T-Bone. MTV set Britney up to fail, then added insults in the form of Sarah Silverman. Was it part of a campaign to destroy her? I didn’t watch a lot of the show, but it looked like Chris Brown was lipsynching also, and Rihanna’s legs looked huge, even though you know they really aren’t.
